Last year Ryan took a look at Cooler Master’s Caliber R2 gaming chair and he was pretty impressed. Well Cooler Master is back with the Caliber R3. This new model features upgraded headrest and lumbar support, a 1.5cm thicker seat base, and an improved ergonomic fit for all users. While this gaming chair my look like every other gaming chair out there it definitely has some features you won’t find on others. Let’s dive in and see if this is the gaming chair you need to buy for your setup!

Packaging & Assembly
The Caliber R3 does not come assembled, but it still comes in a very large box. So you may need help getting up stairs or into the house.
Getting everything out of the box we have all of the different components of the chair, all the hardware and tools necessary to get it installed, and a guide that will help you through the build process.
This is the 5th gaming chair I’ve put together and I have to say it was one of the easiest. Cooler Master was smart enough to make most of the bolts the same size and pre-install the washers on them, so it takes the guess-work out of a lot of the installation. The included instructions were easy to follow as well. I had the chair together in about 20 minutes. Below you can see a quick timelapse of the build process.
